I’m Mike Ross, a portrait photographer based in Bloomington, Minnesota. I love creating images that help people feel confident, seen, and proud of how they show up in the real world.

For me, photography has always been about people first. The camera matters, the lighting matters, and the details matter, but the real magic happens when someone feels comfortable enough to be themselves. That is what I care about most. I enjoy building trust, creating a relaxed atmosphere, and helping people move past the pressure to perform in front of the camera (unless you want to!)

I specialize in headshots, corporate branding, and team portraits for professionals, companies, and brands that want imagery that feels polished, modern, and genuine. Whether I’m photographing one person or an entire team, my goal is to make the experience smooth, easy, and even enjoyable. I want people to walk away thinking, “That was way better than I expected,” and to have images that truly reflect who they are.

My style is clean and intentional but always grounded in connection. I aim for the final images to do more than just look professional. I want them to build trust, tell a story, and foster a sense of connection to the person or brand behind the photo.

Outside of work, I draw inspiration from filmmaking, architectural design, history, geography, modern technology, hip hop, poker, sports—especially hockey—and a good dark stout. I’m inspired by artists who bring depth, texture, and soul to their work, and that same spirit guides how I approach my photography every time I pick up the camera.
